Jharkhand is endowed with over 29 per cent forest cover, with 15 per cent comprising dense forests. The herbal products market in India itself is slated to grow from USD 60 billion in 2004 to USD 5 trillion by 2050. With exports of Ayurvedic medicines breachingthe USD 100 million per annum mark, and leading players in the FMCG segment like the Hindustan Lever Limited (HLL), Dabur, Patanjali , Hamdard, etc. increasing their focus on Ayurveda, the sector offers great potential to invest in.

With nearly 29% of forest cover and a wide variety of flora and fauna, Jharkhand can be a leading supplier of Herbal and Ayurvedic products and may attract huge investments from leading companies in the manufacturing of these materials

The eco-tourism has witnessed ever-green development, represented by over 2200 km2 of national parks and wildlife sanctuaries steadily attracting enthusiasts.

  • Strengthening linkages of livelihood enhancement of forest dependent households through forest based activities.
  • Encouragement to Minor Forest Produce sector through better procurement, Processing and Production.
  • Enhanced Geospatial and ICT based forest management
  • Capacity building and skill development of officials and members of Joint Forest Management Committees.
  • Online facility to obtain permission for tree felling and transit permit
  • Online Consent Management System through mobile application in JSPCB[1]
  • CTO[2] given by JSPCB[1] valid for a minimum period of five years
  • Third Party Audit: Organizing third party audit for better compliance of environmental laws
