Ranchi, October 23, 2016: The Chief Secretary of Jharkhand, Smt Rajbala Verma, today, chaired a high level meeting with the officials from the various departments at Khelgaon, Sports City, to review the preparations for Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors’ Summit which is going to take place on February 16-17, 2017.
A Steering Committee has been constituted which will oversee all the necessary preparations for the maiden Global Investors Summit.
The two day event will aim to showcase the strength and industrial prowess of Jharkhand and will provide a global platform for interaction with industry leaders, policy makers, investors and other stake holders.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary along with the government officials visited various sites and locations within the Khelgaon premise and gave suitable suggestions to the officials to work jointly in order to make the Summit a success. The Chief Secretary stressed the need for meticulous planning and instructed the officials that there should not be any glitches and all arrangements for the Summit should start from now and a professional touch should be given to the entire exercise in a quest to make the Summit successful.
Smt Rajbala Verma directed the state officials to be on a war footing mode in order to beautify the city, improve the road infrastructure, develop green corridors and above all make sure that that the general public is not disturbed while making the arrangements.
The government of Jharkhand is targeting industry luminaries, national and international investors and diplomats at the Summit.
The State government has taken business friendly initiatives and due to the various efforts the State has been ranked 7th among the Indian states in terms of Ease of Doing Business.
The Government of Jharkhand under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Raghubar Das went on an investment destination journey and various road shows in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai and an international road show in USA was successfully organized to attract the investments in the State.
The event is spearheaded by the Industries department, Government of Jharkhand with the support of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
